Image

Kids get creative as they celebrate spring by making beautiful flowerpot pen holders!

This activity is appropriate for:
2nd-3rd grade / 7-8 years

You will need:

Directions

  1. Using tissue paper, collage materials, and your imagination, design and create your own colorful flower shapes.
  2. Use glue or craft tape to attach your flowers to the ends of the pens. Then, wrap green craft tape around the length of the pens (leave the pen tips uncovered!) to make the flowers’ stems.
  3. Pour the lightweight clay into the clay pot and then add a couple of drops of green food coloring.
  4. When the plaster has slightly hardened, stick your pen caps into the plaster upside down. Let the plaster harden completely.
  5. Place your flower pens into the pen caps and enjoy your flowerpot pen creations!
